Debra Bright writes stories about real life and the hard things people don’t always talk about. She grew up in Kentucky and Indiana with her father, grandmother, and aunt. As a child, she learned to use her imagination to find strength and hope. Her book, The Price of Freedom, shows that slavery didn’t really end; it just changed into new forms. When Debra isn’t writing, she loves to travel. She rides motorcycles across America and visits countries like England, France, Italy, Spain, and Iceland. For her, every trip is a chance to learn and grow.
